Team Building Activities

My assignment for today is general and I don’t like that. Team Building Activities is a broad term, almost too broad to elicit the kind of thought and emotion that inspires creative process. So I thought I’d take today’s blog assignment of ‘team building activities’ and use the challenge to show how we create team building songs with our clients.

Creative Inspiration and Team Building Activities

Our passion here at Kidbilly Music is helping people harness their innate creative ability to enhance their daily lives. Creative process involves experimentation, trial and error. There are creative team building activities like Lego play that allow groups to be creative while exploring their organizational experience. There’s also Team Building Through Song®.

The team songwriting process mirrors the challenge I have with today’s blog title. When we start big picture it’s often hard to come up with specific artistic imagery. Because the best songs or paintings are about life’s little moments and specific details. In our actively facilitated creative process it’s okay to start with generalities. A question like, ‘what does your company do?’ or ‘what differentiates you from your competitors?’ generates conversation. Conversation leads to story and story is the stuff of art; chock full of life experience, humor, pain and everything in between.

Your Corporate Story As A Team Building Activity

Organizations have stories just like people do. Every company has a unique story that differentiates it from their competitors. The team songwriting we do enables companies to start big and narrow down the essence of who they are – through the medium of music and song. The song teams create are their best elevator speeches, the emotional and intellectual communication that stays with you.

And There You Have It!

So there you have it, and here it is; a blog post about the general term ‘team building activities.’ But oddly enough, a post that talks most about the specifics of story and narrative. That’s creativity for you – I’m as surprised as you are!
