I usually begin my team building presentations with the following statement – Ninety-eight percent of four-year-olds are creative, yet only ten percent of adults consider themselves to be creative. – I know that your creative four your old self is still within you. And I know how to help you unleash that inner four-year-old. But why would you want to?
Creativity, One Step At A Time
If you write a song with your organization during our music team building programs you’ll experience something you knew intrinsically when you were young, but may have forgotten. Creativity is a step-by-step process. Most adults listen to a hit song, or look at a famous painting and think, ‘Wow, I could never do that!’. But most kids begin the process by doing, not analyzing. During our music based events you’ll create a song one idea at a time; sharing your corporate story, your values and ideas with your colleagues as you contribute to a greater whole and a final result…Your Song, your story. Engaging in this program enables you to reacquaint yourself with your ability to undertake a creative process successfully.
Music For Problem Solving
Getting back to my question above, Why would you want to unleash your creativity? Well, you need to be creative to solve problems. If you have a problem then you need to come up with a solution – something that doesn’t yet exist. Thus you have to create it! By the time you’ve created a song you’ll know from first-hand experience that it’s an understandable methodology and process, not only inspirational. You can apply the same lessons to your creative problem-solving in business. Or better yet, to enhance your ability to innovate.
Use It or Lose It
Most adults understand it’s vital to practice something to maintain a skill level. Whether it’s working out at the gym or harnessing your creative power, you have to engage in practice. Once we help you see that you are creative, you’ll have to be the one to put aside some time so you don’t lose it…again!
