September Musical Team Building Activities

I’m just gonna roll events from our September musical team building activities into one post. Because this was our busiest September and it might take me until next September to write a separate post about each event we’ve just facilitated.

Part of what I sell is the power of story. Story and music = song. A powerful example of how a great identifying phrase evokes story and emotion is the Kellogg’s phrase I grew up with…They’re GR-R-REAT! (Tony the Tiger). So when I received an email inquiry from a PHD at Kellogg with a picture of Tony the Tiger and that catch phrase at the bottom of the email I was hooked. My wife and I made a long weekend of it as we drove to Battle Creek, MI to help this group of food safety scientists create their story through song. Musical team building activities at the historic Kellogg mansion  – kinda cool. Here’s a portion of the lyric our Kellogg musical team building group created…
For breakfast, lunch and dinner – The consumer is the winner – All across the nation – Food Safety protects the Kellogg reputation

Musical Team Building Activities On The Road

Musical Team Building Activities

Shevy, Rusty and Billy working hard at Wynn Las Vegas

After a day at home, I headed to Las Vegas to help our Destination Management friends from Hello! Las Vegas create a song with staff from Wynn Las Vegas. These two great hospitality companies work together and they wanted a bonding experience. With the help of our talented songwriter facilitators, Rusty Tabor and Shevy Smith, we led the group through sixty minutes of laughter, story and music. Despite my best efforts, the phrase “Win-Wynn” did not make it into the song!

Pharmaceuticals and Musicals

From Las Vegas, we flew to Dallas and joined five more Kidbilly Music hit songwriter leaders for a large team building program for Novartis. I can’t give you many details. If we’ve learned anything it’s that the pharmaceutical industry is very hush hush. But I can tell you that this group of leaders created eight songs expressing the passion they have for saving lives through science and dedication. We also worked with Pfizer in September. It’s no secret that Nexium is going OTC (over the counter) in 2014. I helped the Nexium OTC project team work on their communication skills through the songwriting process. I now know a lot about that little purple pill. From Dallas the Kidbilly crew headed to Nashville and a fun program with TIAA-CREF.
