The Best Creative Team Building Activities

I know, I know…I’m asking for trouble by titling a blog post, ‘the best’. But I believe creative team building activities are the best. Because it’s hard to be half-way in a creative activity. You can fake it when you’re repeating things, but it’s hard to fake it when you’re actually creating things. Your senses and your emotions are engaged as an integral part of any creative process.

Change and Creative Team Building Activities

Let’s talk about change. It’s invigorating and inspiring. It never ceases to amaze me how much more efficient I am after a vacation, even a long weekend with a change of scene. I’ll be back at my desk getting a week’s worth of work done in a day – or so it seems. Change gives us energy, balance and perspective. Many of my clients seek us out for music team building because they understand the value of stepping outside the box to change things up.

The Lasting Value of Creating Stuff

I’m not really good at painting or creating pottery. But pottery creation, as one of the creative team building activities I’ve done with my family, makes me feel like I’m an artist. In fact, I’ve got coffee mugs my kids made fifteen years ago that I still use, lovingly. When we create something it has great value in our eyes, and that’s okay. You don’t have to be a Picasso to be proud of your work. And creativity has real value in business too.

Creative Team Building Activities with Take-Aways

Like pottery, the creative team building activities my company provides have powerful take-aways, Your Song! We help our clients tell their organizational story through song. We’ve had clients who’ve re-created their websites after a creative team building program, because the song they wrote did a better job of communicating the essence of what they offer to clients.
