Team Building Programs In Nashville

With the opening of the Music City Center in 2013, the popularity of the ABC TV show “Nashville”, and Nashville’s storied history as an incubator for great music, I’ve noticed a marked increase in inquiries from diverse clients across the globe who are coming to Nashville to work, engage and play. In fact, while our music team building programs have grown by 50 percent this year worldwide, we’ve doubled the number of team building programs in Nashville this year over last. Although I’m partial to our own interactive programs, if you’re planning a meeting in Music City, you’ll want to know about all the best team building programs in Nashville.  Consider your options so you can find the best fitContinue Reading

2014 Team Building Activities in Chicago

For any of you who’s turn it is to plan your company’s team building program, there’s no place like the Windy City. Here are some great 2014 Team Building Activities in Chicago. They’re all indoor team building activities, so you can come to Chicago before the spring thaw…it does look like it’s going to be a cold winter. One of my foundational requirements for any team building program is fun. Two things that don’t go together are fun and boredom. You can’t be bored and be having fun at the same time. Fun = In the Moment. Fun = Engagement. And that’s an excellent starting place for successful team building. The trick is to find programs that are inherently funContinue Reading

Team Building Exercises For Small Teams

In October I wrote about team building exercises for large teams. So I thought for a second that for this blog post on team building exercises for small teams, I could simply take my old blog post and replace the word large with small and be done! Just kidding. But kidding as a way to illustrate that there really are differences between large group programs and team building exercises for small teams. Small teams have challenges related to their dynamic – team members will most likely interact quite often. But this interaction holds the promise of great reward and accomplishment, once a team has learned to work well together. Team Building Exercises For Small Teams Small teams should engage in someContinue Reading

Corporate Event Ideas For 2014

The first of my corporate event ideas for 2014 is to simply say, please have an event. There’s intangible, yet real, value in getting people together. Ok…phew…you’ve decided to have a meeting. Now I can share some specific thoughts about corporate event ideas you should consider for 2014. Corporate Event Ideas For 2014 Unstructured Time is important. When we’re kids we have lots of unstructured time. Or at least we should. When we’re young, play time is work time. Lots of learning and development takes place. Guess what? Lots of learning and development can take place during unstructured time during your corporate event. As I roam the globe eavesdropping on cocktail conversation at corporate events, I’ve noticed that even casualContinue Reading

Corporate Team Building Events in New York City

We recently led a corporate team building event at one of the Abigail Kirsch Catering locations in New York. Of all their locations, Pier 60 is my personal favorite for corporate team building events in New York City. Pier 60 overlooks the Hudson River. In fact it’s right on the river with spectacular views. I travel the US and the world facilitating my team building with music program. And I always try to find a local connection wherever we work. It’s fun to lean toward the blues in Chicago or country music in the south. And for New York…it’s such a melting pot that anything goes. How You Know You Need A Team Builder

Bad day at work. Another bad day at work. Followed by a bad day at work. It could be a personal problem. Or it could mean your organization needs a team builder. We’re all aware of the momentum sports teams have. There’s an intangible confidence, creativity and energy when a team’s in the zone. And conversely, when a team needs a team builder, or a tune up, there’s a lack of confidence, creativity and energy. When A Team Builder When teams are performing at a high level, each team member functions well at his or her individual job, showing initiative and energy. Each person then partners with team members as everyone compliments and supports each other – the whole isContinue Reading

Team Building Ideas For Large Teams

It’s hard to find effective team building ideas for large teams. There are many tried and true corporate activities for small groups. But when you’re trying to find team building ideas for several hundred or more, the choices are few. It may appear that there are lots of choices. For example, a scavenger hunt is done a lot for large group team building. But I’m not a big fan of that or other similar programs that are really just an afternoon out on the town. If you’re going to invest time and resources in a program, then it should be engaging and meaningful for the majority of your large group. Team Building Ideas To Engage Large Groups When I’m onContinue Reading

Challenges In Corporate Team Building

“I hate team building!” That’s a comment I often hear and one of the foremost challenges in corporate team building. Other challenges in corporate team building relate to the activities themselves. But before you consider the activities you have to get past the I hate team building factor. Most people hate team building because they’ve been forced into uncomfortable activities or have simply been bored to death. Team building should be well facilitated by a dedicated professional. Yet it also should be co-created by everyone who takes part in the activity. You can get participant buy-in if you work with people and invite them into the process step by step. Here’s an example of team building you don’t have toContinue Reading

Chicago Team Building Programs

Here’s an update since I first posted this article about the opening of our new office for Chicago team building programs. Not only are we enjoying bringing music team building to Chicago, we’re enjoying success. Last month (May, 2014), I co-facilitated our first drumming program with Chicago drum leader, John Yost. We led 350 members of the Boehringer Ingelheim Oncology Franchise through an exciting, interactive session that had everyone engaged and fired up. We’re officially launching our drum song program on our website shortly, so stay tuned for a dedicated program page soon! Another program that’s been popular in the Windy City is our CSR for Chicago team building. Of course, we’re not the only great team building available –Continue Reading
